About Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) Technology
Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) is an advanced emission control technology designed to reduce harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel engine exhaust. This critical system works by injecting a urea-based solution, commonly known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), into the exhaust stream. The SCR system then converts harmful NOx into harmless nitrogen (N₂) and water vapor (H₂O) through a chemical reaction, significantly cutting down the environmental impact of diesel engines.
SCR technology is essential in ensuring diesel engines meet stringent emissions standards, such as Euro 6 and EPA Tier 4, making diesel engines cleaner and more environmentally friendly without sacrificing performance.
