About Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) Technology
A Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) is a vital component in modern diesel engines, designed to reduce harmful emissions by converting pollutants into less harmful compounds. As part of the diesel aftertreatment system, the DOC primarily targets carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and soluble organic fractions (SOF), which are produced during diesel combustion.
The DOC achieves this through a chemical reaction that oxidizes these pollutants into water (H₂O) and carbon dioxide (CO₂), significantly lowering the environmental impact of diesel engines. DOCs play a crucial role in ensuring that diesel engines meet emissions standards like Euro 6 and EPA Tier 4, contributing to cleaner air and better engine performance.
